VLE stands for Virtual Learning Environment. This is an exciting online area where interactive courses can be set up for students and information can easily be shared and accessed by students, teachers and parents. For the past year, this has been used very effectively by staff and students at the school, and it is continuing to grow and develop.

Any parent wishing to comment or discuss the content of a policy please contact the named member of staff or the school office. Hard copies are available to parents/carers on request at reception.

Community Languages

Any parent/carer needing an interpreter for school meetings, staff are available to do this covering most community languages. Where we are unable to do this we have contacts within the community.

A new Parent Support Advisor has been appointed to help parents with everyday support that can be needed to support themselves and their families.

How Parents can support their child at Hamstead Hall

• Please ensure that the Home School Learning Agreement below is signed and you discuss it in detail with your son/daughter.
• Support The Learning Centre aims
• Attend all Parents’ Evenings/meetings
• Work to support your child in the completion of their homework
• Check and sign their study planner each week
• Ensure that your child treats all other people, either in The Learning Centre or while
• travelling to The Learning Centre, with respect and politeness
• Support The Learning Centre’s policies on discipline and act in a positive manner if an issue arises
• Ensure that your child always wears correct Learning Centre uniform and brings the required books and equipment each day in a bag to protect them.
• Ensure that your child attends The Learning Centre every day, except when ill and arrives before The Learning Centre starts. If your child is away from The Learning Centre you must phone in before 9.00am and send a note on the first day of their return.
• Ensure that your child does not bring offensive weapons onto The Learning Centre site.
• Ensure that holidays are not taken during term time as places will not be kept open on return
